Name Changes
You would first notify HR of the name change. Once HR is notified then you should also notify the Helpdesk by emailing helpdesk@cpsd.us.
When we change the name on your account it will be updated immediately on the CPSD side but the Google account won't change the email address until the next morning. The old email address, the one you are currently using, will become an Alias. This means that the address that it is changing from will stay linked to the account so if people email that address after the change then it will get forwarded to your inbox still.
Another thing to note is that we have to manually change a lot of the accounts you use. Things like Aspen, Novatime, and many others that use your network credentials are all separate entities. These sites use our network credentials as it makes it easier for the users to have a uniform login instead of lots of different accounts. We will send an email out to all the parties that should have things changed over and they will change it on their end. Not everything will be changed immediately but if you are not able to access any accounts two days after the change let us know so we can make sure that system was updated with the new login credentials.
